Gowns, Crowns and Boogie Down is what was going on in Freehold with the ladies of Diane & Co from the hit show "Jersey Couture". On beautiful Sat. afternoon I attended a promotional event that celebrated the connection of the popular gown boutique with New Jersey Fashion Week's Donella Tillery. The dance music fused day was filled with excited young ladies looking for prom gowns as I and some beautiful fellow sister Queens announced some lucky winners who took home prizes ranging from gown gift certificates to tickets to NJ Fashion Week. It was great day had by all.

Having dinner with the lovely ladies competing for Mrs. New Jersey 2010. All were beautiful, intelligent, inspiring and kind. I felt honored to be in the presence of such amazing women. After dinner we all wnt back to our hotel and enjoyed a night of kareoke fun! It was the ultimate "Girls Night Out"!

It was so much fun catching up with my pageant sisters, family and friends, while we ate great food and swapped stories both funny and enlightening. On Tues. April 27th, I had the privilege of attending one of my favorite charity events of the year, the annual New Jersey Dishes-for-Wishes Top Chef event that benefits the Make-A-Wish foundation. The evening was jam packed with the finest foods that South Jersey has to offer! Among the local celebrities in attendance were, Jon Runyan of the Philadelphia Eagles, T.V. News personality Bob Kelly, Gervase Patterson from the first season of Survivor and of course my sister queens Andrea, Susan and Shanna all vying to be the new Mrs. New Jersey United States. I would like to say a very special thank you to Mrs. New Jersey United States 2007, Heather Cunningham for a job well done. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is blessed to have you on their team.

On Sat. April 24th, I had the pleasure of attending the Mrs. MD & PA United States Pageant. The pageant, which was held in Harrisburg, PA, featured some of the best and brightest women that both states had to offer. It was so wonderful watching my fellow class of '09 pageant sisters Ginny Meerman, Mrs. Maryland '09 and Kate Cohen, Mrs. Pennsylvania '09 give their beautiful, heartfelt farewell speeches. I really enjoyed sharing the experience with Mrs. Sussex County 2010, Rita-Ann Schmick (pictured above with Me, Mr. Delaware 2009 Chris Saltalamacchio and Andrea Graham). On March 26, the Shore Builders Association hosted their annual Fight Night Golden Gloves Event. The event , which took place in the Boylan Gymnasium at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ , benefited the Associations efforts to promote fair housing. One of the great things about being Mrs. New Jersey is getting to meet dignitaries from all over the state who are working very hard to make a positive impact in New Jersey. On March 25, I had the great opportunity to meet many of Bloomfield's movers & shakers as I attended a Mayoral event hosted by Mayor Ray McCarty at the wonderful Forest Hill Club in Bloomfield, NJ. Every time I attend an event such as this, I am reminded of how important it is for each and every one of us to vote so that our voices, wants and needs do not go unnoticed. Northeast Cover Miss Girl & Boy Pageant

The weekend of March 21 was a very busy one for me. Not only did I have the great honor to crown the new Miss Middlesex County ( an official Miss America preliminary), I also had the great pleasure to host the Northeast Cover Miss Girl & Boy pageant. The spectacular competition was a two day event which was held at the magnificent Parsippany Sheraton. I had so much fun interacting with the super-cute contestants who ranged from 0-21 years of age. Congratulations to the winners and all who participated in the pageant! I was very impressed with each and every one of you. Thank you to the pageant's director Amy Flatley for doing an excellent job and allowing me to be a part of your vision.

A hurricane like storm and subsequent black out could not stop the many generous hearted volunteers and guests from attending the Ladacin Networks 29th Annual Rosebud Gala. The black tie event was held on March 13th at the Sheraton in Eatontown, NJ. Because of the storm that weekend,the hotel had lost power. The ballroom and a few other spaces in the hotel had dim light provided by the hotels generator, but that could not dampen the spirits of the many people who were there to raise money for the agency that provides education and other much needed services for special needs children and adults. There was something very special about that evening, it showed me how much people are willing to help others, even in the eye of a storm.

On March 12th I was in Newark, NJ with my dear friend Elise Counts attending the Swearing In Ceremony of our good friend Judge Tiffany Williams! In attendance were many of Tiffany's esteemed colleagues, (which included Governor Jon Corzine), family and friends. It was a wonderful evening filled with great stories and well wishes for the Honorable Miss Williams. I met Tiffany many years ago when we competed together in the Miss New Jersey locals for the Miss America Organization. We are now co-directing, along with Elise, the Miss Middlesex County Area Pageant, an official Miss America local. I am so proud to be working along side such a dynamic women as we continue to mentor young ladies to be all that God intended them to be!

Spin for a Child Event

On March 7th, I celebrated my birthday with some amazing people who all came together to take a spin class for a great cause. Spin for a Child was an event held , in Montclair N.J.,to raise money for the foster children of Essex County. Essex County alone accounts for 1% of the nation's children in foster care. These children are in desperate need of caretakers,volunteers and advocates to ensure their well being and progressive development. I am proud to say that the class I participated in raised over $11 thousand for the cause. I would love to send a special shout out to Karin, Bonnie, Rosemary, & Romona for their hard word and dedication to the children of Essex County.

Queen's Corner Pageant Expo

On Sunday Feb. 28, I was in Newark New Jersey attending the Queen's Corner expo held at the beautiful Hilton hotel. During the event I had the chance to catch up with many of my pageant sisters including former Mrs. New Jerseys Heather Cunningham (07) and Susan Huntley (06), Marci McNair Mrs. Delaware, My good friend Patricia Sullivan who was there representing the All American and Global pageant systems and a blast from my past, pageant coach Tiffany Delmonico and her wonderful mom Larraine whom I had not seen since I was a title holder in their pageant 10 years ago! Also in attendance, Mrs. Sussex County Rita-Ann Shmick and Mrs. North East Philadelphia Andrea Graham.

Did you know that the #1 killer of women is heart disease? It is so important for women to know their bodies and be aware of the risk factors. Education and awareness is key. On Feb. 23rd, I had the opportunity to volunteer for the American Heart Association as they conducted a "Go Red for Women" casting call at the Bridge Water Commons Mall. It was a pleasure to share this experience with Brielle La Costa, 2010 Miss New Jersey International and Samatha Rizzuto, Miss Preteen National Sweetheart. It was a great day filled with stories of inspiration. On Feb. 18th I got the chance to rock the runway in Red Bank New Jersey at the Selve Shoe Boutique's first annual "Designer of the Year" Red Carpet Event. It was a great evening filled with great food, music( provided by the super-talented Michael Ghegan) and fashion forward fun! On Jan. 23th 2010, I, along with my good friend Elise Counts, owner of Lovely You , celebrated life, love, motivation and inspiration when we honored five amazing women at our first annual Cancer Ball. The black tie event was held at the Crowne Plaza , in Somerset NJ. Our beautiful honorees included Dr. Hiawatha Goins Baron, DonnaLyn Giegerich, Amandalyn Mosby & Meg Mornhineway. Each woman was honored for their bravery, determination and their efforts as community ambassadors. Entertainment was provided by Miss Queen City, Nychole Hunt and featured U.S. Open singer Ja'Niel Humphrey. Motivational speaker and T.V. One host, Dee Marshell mesmerized the audience with her words of encouragement. It was an awe filled evening that brought out family, friends and pageant sisters alike. The highlight of the night for me was being able to speak about my beautiful courageous sister who loss her battle with Cancer, but who's legacy continues to live on. Proceeds from the night's event was raised for the American Cancer Society.

On Jan.16 Millville Senior High School played host to the 2010 Miss NJ Outstanding Teen Pageant. 18 of our state's most talented young ladies between the ages of 13 to 17 competed for the prestigious title. Ladacin Network's Polar Bear Plunge

On Jan.16 I was in Manasquan NJ, on the beach watching many passionate men and women brave the icy water in a Polar Bear Plunge to benefit the Ladacin Network which services over 2,8oo infants,children and adults in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, my beautiful son Elijah being one of them. One of my favorite days during my year as Mrs. New Jersey was the day of my send-off party before the national competition, which was held in Las Vegas. Holiday Sing Along

On Dec. 23rd I had the pleasure of attending a sing along given by the students of Mill Lake Elementary in Monroe, N.J. I enjoyed holiday tunes,the excitement in the air and a festive atmosphere as the students sang their hearts out all for "peace on earth and goodwill towards men". I also got an opportunity to speak to the children about the wonderful job they did raising over 600 donated toys for Toys for Tots and my good friend Claire Pavlinec's charity, Maternal Wings. The children of Mill Lake Elementary really know what the holiday season is all about!

Cape May Holiday Parade & Going Green!

On Dec. 7th I,along with Mrs. NJ Classic All American Patricia Sullivan, smiled, waved and braved the bitter cold as we rode in the spectacular Cape May Holiday parade. Hundreds of people lined the street as we welcomed in the holiday the Cape May way! I also used that day as an opportunity to teach others a little something I learned about "Going Green" , the outfit I wore helped to prove my point (can you guess what it is made of?). Heart Walk Awards Celebration: Mercer County

On Thurs. Dec 3rd, Mercy County College hosted the 2009 Greater Mercer Start! Heart Walk Awards Celebration. The event recognized the many personal and corporate volunteers and sponsors who come together and give as much as they can to ensure the success of the annual Greater Mercer Start! Heart Walk which to date raised over $380,000 for the American Heart Association. Senator Peter Inverso (top photo) will be the chair for next year's event which is scheduled for Sept 12, 2010. United Talented Youth Inc. Kreative Kids Pageant

One of my greatest joys is to see young girls go after their dreams with great confidence and sheer determination and that is exactly what I witnessed when I attended the United Talented Youth 's Kreative Kids Pageant at Essex County College in Newark, N.J. The theme of the evening was "The Adventures of SuperKidz!" and the beautiful girls in the competition did not disappoint! They were all intelligent, focused, talented and poised with dreams of one day ruling the world and you know what? I believe they will!

Haddon Heights Holiday Parade

Let the holidays begin! I must say, I really do LOVE this time of year!!! I had so much fun on friday Nov. 27th, at the Haddon Heights Holiday Parade. The parade rode down,beautifully Christmas decorated, Station Ave. in Haddon Heights. I was able to share the wonderful experience with former Mrs. Haddon Heights, the gorgeous Olga Berry ( who was also my roommate at Mrs. NJ) and her equally beautiful daughter, former Miss New Jersey National Teenager, Vladyslava Levchenko. The parade route was lined with beaming children of all ages eagerly anticipating the upcoming holidays. Thank you to Laura Olt for inviting me to beautiful, festive Haddon Heights!

On Nov.8th, It was my great honor and extreme pleasure to host the Miss Queen City and Miss Union County Pageant, an official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant. The young ladies who competed that night were all beautiful, intelligent, talented women who are passionate about their platforms and role models in their communities. I was so impress with how well they presented themselves and how supportive they were with one another. Miss New Jersey Ashley Shaffer made an appearance and shared some advice and words of wisdom with all of the contestants. Also in attendance was former Miss Union County, my good friend, Tiffany Williams, Miss New Jersey Outstanding Teen, queens from the National American Miss & National Co-ed systems, the newly crowned Little Miss Queen City & Little Miss Union County and many others. It was truly an evening to remember. Mrs. Red Bank who placed first-runner up at the Mrs. NJ United States pageant welcomed me along with, Rita-Ann, Mrs. Sussex County, Andrea, Mrs. Greater Princeton, Elise Counts, Founder of "Lovely You" and some of her gorgeous friends and neighbors for an evening of laughter and fun as we shared stories about life, love, work and family. On Sept. 14th, I was one of three judges who participated in choosing Chef Mario Mangone, owner of the Chambers Walk Cafe, as the "Iron Chef" of Lawrence, NJ. Chef Mangone's worthy challenger was Chef Jim Moore, who is also a patrolman at the Robbinsville Township police Dept. The theme of the competition was "eat local " and the challenge was to use food that grown locally in Lawrence. I can tell you that both Chefs made excellent use of all the chosen ingredients which included a beautiful array of fruits and vegetables, a wonderful assortment of fine cheese and the best cuts of pork chops that you have ever seen. The food was absolutely delicious!!! This great event raised $900 for the Lawrence Township Education Foundation. You can view an article on this event at http://www.centraljersey.com/.

It was my great honor to be invited to speak at the DoubleTree Hotel in Princeton, NJ, at a beautiful cocktail reception for potential clients and guests. I spoke about the relaxing stay that my fellow pageant sisters and I got to enjoy the night before our competition.
